Face Washing Tips in Eight Simple Steps

Washing is vital when it comes to maintaining beautiful and healthy skin throughFace washing tipsout your life. However, you need to understand that if you do not wash your face correctly, you actually can cause harm to your skin. This particularly is the case if you are suffering from acne.

When not done as it should be, face washing can make acne breakouts more severe. In addition, inappropriate face washing can occasionally even spread acne.

Through this article you are presented with basic tips you need to follow in order to properly wash your face.

Eliminate all make-up from your face. You need to make certain that you do not leave any makeup on your face at the end of the day. You should use a cotton ball and moisturizing cream when removing makeup to avoid damaging your skin.

Make sure the water is warm. You should avoid using too hot or too cold water when cleaning your skin.  By failing to use warm water, you can cause damage to your skin.

Avoid bar soaps cleansers on your skin. Strong bar soaps actually can end up drying your skin and stripping off natural lipids. The majority of cleansers on the market contain water, oil and surfactants. If you are going to use soap as a cleanser, you should select soap that is mild. You can always choose to use cleansers that are soap-free, non-comedogenic, and mild, including products like Cetaphil or Neutrogena. The key is to find the correct mix of oil on your skin. Too much oil on your skin will clog pores. Too little oil will dry your skin out.

Massage face. When washing your face, you will want to make smooth, rotating, upwards motions with your fingertips. Keep in mind that hard rubbing will do more harm than good to your skin.

Rinse face well. It is vital for you to rinse your skin thoroughly to remove all residue of soap or cleanser. Leaving residues behind can clog your pores and damage your skin. Splash warm water on your face until there is no residue left anywhere on the skin. Take your time to make sure all residues are removed.

Dry your face using a clean and soft towel. When you are done cleaning or washing your face, avoid contaminating your skin with bacteria by using a clean and soft towel. Never rub your face with the towel as that can irritate and damage your skin.

Be sure to choose a toner without alcohol. It is important to use a toner without alcohol because alcohol dries out your skin. Astringents and toners with glycolic or alpha hydroxy acids work better for toning the face and are recommended. These acids in fact can decrease the pore size, and help avoid ingrown hairs which can cause serious problems when it comes to your skin.

End with a moisturizer. The final step of your face cleaning regimen is the use of moisturizer. Moisturizer is necessary to replace the natural oils that have been lost through the cleansing process. A basic law of skin health is that everyone, no matter the skin type, needs to moisturize. The only exception is those with acne. In cases of acne, using a light moisturizer product with the least amount of chemical additives is the best. For an intensive moisture treatment use pure vitamin E, or aloe vera oil. Be careful not to over moisturize because this can cause clogged pores.
